From IMTMA

India has around 3.5 lakh COVID-19 cases as per union government estimates, however, timely tracing, reporting and quarantine is helping a faster recovery. The economy is showing green shoots with industries restarting their operations and we believe there are good signs of recovery. The demand and supply disruptions caused by the pandemic is beginning to ease out and we expect business to reach a new equilibrium.

Decks have been cleared for entry of foreign firms willing to set up their manufacturing units in India. India is readying a pool of land twice the size of Luxembourg to accommodate these firms and the country has also reached out to a number of American multinational firms as well. Government of Maharashtra, for example, is likely to sign MoUs with US, Chinese, South Korean and Singaporean firms which will bring good foreign investments into the state. Engineering, automobiles, food processing, electronics, IT, and many more sectors are earmarked for investments which bodes well for employment in the long run.

The newsletter brings you updates on various stimulus measures/packages announced by the central and state governments. It also gives an insight into news updates, various government notifications and best practices adopted by Indian and overseas industries to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
